Real Life Collective is a community-centered organization dedicated to helping returning citizens and individuals navigating major life transitions rebuild, reconnect, and move forward with purpose.

Our work focuses on reentry stabilization, structure, accountability, and real-life support for individuals rebuilding after incarceration, homelessness, hardship, or major transition. We provide guidance, resource navigation, emotional support, and practical assistance with housing, employment preparation, transportation, food support, ID recovery, follow-up care, and rebuilding daily life stability.

Real Life Collective was created to provide human-centered support through real relationships, consistency, and community connection — helping people feel supported, empowered, and capable of moving forward one step at a time.

Whether someone is returning home from incarceration, rebuilding their foundation, or searching for direction and stability, Real Life Collective is committed to walking alongside them every step of the way.

About Brazil

My name is Brazil, and my journey is the foundation of everything I do.

After spending 15 years incarcerated, I returned home and quickly realized that rebuilding life isn’t as simple as people think. Release isn’t the finish line—it’s the beginning of a completely new challenge.

When I came home, I didn’t have a roadmap. I had my parents—and together, we had to figure everything out step by step. We searched for resources, asked questions, and slowly discovered support systems and opportunities we didn’t even know existed.

That process changed everything for me.

Because I realized something important:

  • People don’t fail because they don’t want better.
  • They struggle because they don’t have a clear path—or the right people in their corner.

Today, I work as a community resource specialist at Crossroads of Michigan, helping individuals meet basic needs and take steps toward stability. Through that work, I’ve seen the same pattern over and over again—people trying to rebuild without guidance, structure, or consistent support.

That’s why I created Real Life Collective.

Real Life Collective is built for people who are rebuilding—returning citizens, individuals in transition, and families navigating difficult situations. We provide guidance, structure, and real-world support to help people move forward with clarity and confidence.

No guessing. No confusion.
Just a clear plan and a path forward—with the right support behind you.

In addition to this work, I became an ordained minister to help people step into new chapters of their lives—including marriage—especially after overcoming life’s hardest moments. I believe in restoration, connection, and creating meaningful futures.

This isn’t surface-level help.

This is hands-on, real-life support from someone who understands the process—because I’ve lived it.
